City Green is thrilled to announce that shoppers using SNAP can now get MORE out of Good Food Bucks at our participating ShopRite stores. At ShopRites of Lawnside, Sicklerville, Newark, Elizabeth and East Orange, when a customer spends up to $10 on fresh fruits and vegetables using their SNAP/EBT card they will receive up to $10 in Good Food Bucks coupons to buy fresh produce the next time they shop. This is double the previous benefit of $5, so now customers can receive twice as many coupons for free fruits and vegetables each time they shop!

Spend at least $10 on fresh fruits and vegetables using SNAP, and get up to $10 of Good Food Bucks coupons for more fresh produce next time you shop!

Shoppers who use SNAP will receive this benefit in the form of a coupon that will print after the receipt. This will allow shoppers to take full advantage of the benefit and receive free fruits and vegetables at participating stores. Bringing programs like Good Food Bucks to grocery stores is so important because it allows shoppers who use SNAP to get more fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables while reducing the financial burden of grocery shopping on them. City Green is excited to continue growing this partnership with Wakefern Food Corporation and ShopRite grocery stores to ensure all New Jerseyans have affordable access to healthy foods.

“Now that you can get up to $10 in Good Food Bucks when you use SNAP, your healthy food spending power is doubled,” says City Green’s Director of Food Access, Lisa Martin. “Wakefern’s commitment to partnering with City Green on making fresh fruits and vegetables more affordable at ShopRites, and sourcing locally grown produce into their stores through the ‘Jersey Fresh’ program, is helping to improve food and nutrition security across the Garden State.”

Thanks to Wakefern Food Corporation for their continued support of the program and for their commitment to increasing food access for their customers. ShopRite grocery stores are dedicated to helping customers and their communities thrive. Additional thanks to store owners Zallie Family Markets, Village Super Market, and Glass Gardens, Inc. for operating the program at their participating ShopRite stores.
