Who is Eligible to apply?

Any SNAP-authorized farmer, farmers market, farm stand, mobile produce market, or CSA program based in New Jersey.

Farms and markets currently in the process of becoming SNAP-authorized are also eligible to submit an application. For information on SNAP-authorization, check out our How to Become a SNAP-Authorized Farm or Market in NJ Toolkit

Grocery Stores that are interested in joining the program can visit goodfoodbucks.com/grocery and fill out the intake form at any time to begin the application process.

Notice of award: within 60 days of submission.
With Good Food Bucks, you can offer 50% off discounts or a dollar for dollar match on fresh produce to your SNAP customers, with no extra cost to your market! City Green will reimburse you for all Good Food Bucks redeemed, up to $10,000 each year, allowing your market offer affordable produce to shoppers who use SNAP

Good Food Bucks Reimbursements
Funding and Materials for Marketing and Promotion
Included with your Good Food Bucks package is a set of Good Food Bucks marketing materials (flyers, posters, a banner, tabletop signs, buttons, a sandwich board, etc.), and a $500 check for any marketing and promotion of Good Food Bucks at your farm or market. Your farm or market will also be included in statewide promotions of the Good Food Bucks program!
Technical Support, Trainings, & Resources for Everything SNAP, WIC, and FMNP
City Green provides one-on-one meetings, an online training program, toolkits, and consistent support for farms and markets related to the SNAP, WIC, and FMNP programs. Check out our Farmers for Food Access Resource Hub for tools that will help your farm or market get registered for these programs!
Inclusion in New Jersey's Only Statewide Nutrition Incentive Initiative for Farms/Markets
Join the network of over 35 other farms and farmers markets in New Jersey working to ensure that their fruits and vegetables are affordable for all. Participation includes opportunities for collaboration, shared resources, and visibility of collective impact data.

Since 2016, $339,030 in Good Food Bucks for SNAP and WIC/Seniors FMNP have been redeemed at New Jersey Farm and Market Partners.
Over 13,000 Families Served by Good Food Bucks
It is estimated that Good Food Bucks have served around 13,500 families at farms and farmers markets around New Jersey since 2019. That is 13,000 more families receiving affordable produce, and 13,000 more customers!
90+ Farmers Have Gained Income from Good Food Bucks
In 2023 alone, 92 farms/farmers from around New Jersey earned additional income from Good Food Bucks.
